Marjorie Hoffman of And It's Good
Marjorie is a born and bred New Yorker transplanted to Ithaca in 1991. She attended the High School of Music and Art when it was still located on the campus of City College in Harlem. Her BFA was earned at Cooper Union where she majored in photography and also discovered her love of woodworking.
Marjorie went on to earn Master degrees in education from the City University of New York and from Bank Street College. She has been making art all of her life and teaching for over thirty years. Seventeen years were spent locally, teaching art to upper elementary and middle school students at the Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca.
Marjorie is part of three generations of artists. Her mother was also an art teacher and her adult daughters are artists as well. One daughter is a clothing designer and the other a jeweler.
Working with her hands, particularly three dimensionally is Marjorie's passion. She loves being a mosaic designer.
